Role Summary:
The Cloud Specialist is responsible for providing cloud consultancy, solution design, and architecture expertise to support the sales lifecycle for cloud services and hybrid infrastructure solutions.
This role works closely with the Solutions Manager - Cloud, delivery, and partner teams to understand customer requirements, design tailored cloud solutions and articulate the value proposition of the company’s cloud offerings. The Cloud Specialist plays a key role in customer engagement, proposal development, proof-of-concept delivery, and technical presentations to ensure successful outcomes.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
Cloud Architecture and Technical Consultancy
• Serve as the Cloud Architect for cloud and hybrid solution opportunities, providing expertise throughout the pre-sales and proposal stages.
• Collaborate with the sales team and partners to understand customer business and technical requirements, translating them into scalable, secure cloud architectures.
• Conduct architecture reviews and solution assessments, recommend upgrades, enhancements, or integrations aligned with customer needs and best practices.
• Evaluate and test new cloud services and technologies, advising on adoption strategies that deliver business value.
• Provide technical consultancy and solution guidance in areas such as cloud infrastructure, virtualization, and migration strategies.
• Assess customer environments and design tailored cloud solutions that meet performance, security, and cost objectives.
Project Engagement and Leadership
• Support RFP/RFI responses, solution proposals, and presentations to customers.
• Lead or participate in proof-of-concepts and technical demonstrations.
• Work closely with delivery teams to ensure design integrity during implementation
Collaboration and Standards Development
• Provide strategic insights into cloud technology trends, innovations, and emerging best practices to guide solution development and customer engagement.
• Collaborate with Hyperscalers to co-develop cloud solutions, address technical challenges, and ensure optimal use of partner technologies.
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of organizational cloud standards, frameworks, and best practices, helping to strengthen overall cloud delivery capabilities
Education and Experience:
Qualifications: Degree in Information Technology or equivalent.
Relevant Industry Experience: Minimum 5 years of related experience in IT and cloud environments, with strong knowledge in at least three of the following areas: cloud, virtualization, storage, networking, or security.
Cloud Expertise:
Certifications: The candidate must possess at least one valid cloud certification from a
recognized cloud service provider, such as:
