Cloud computing typically refers to shared pools of configurable computer system resources and higher-level services that can be rapidly provisioned with minimal management effort, often over the Internet.

Clouds can be in the form of private, public or hybrid clouds.

The advantages of cloud computing include:

  • Enabling organizations to focus on their core businesses instead of expending resources on computer infrastructure and maintenance.
  • Minimizing up-front IT infrastructure costs.
  • Enabling organizations to deploy their applications faster, with improved manageability.
  • Enabling IT teams to adjust resources rapidly to accommodate fluctuating and unpredictable demand.
  • Enabling organizations to pay only for what they use.

CTC Malaysia Offerings

IaaS

PUBLIC • CUVIC Cloud

In 2018, CTC launched CUVIC Cloud designed, built and operated by CTC in Malaysia. It suited for customers who are looking for IaaS as we host the infrastructure components including servers, storage and networking hardware, as well as the virtualization or hypervisor layer at a third party data centre.

In addition, CTC provides a range of services to accompany those infrastructure components. The services may include detailed billing, monitoring, log access, security, load balancing and clustering and storage resiliency such as backup, replication and recovery.

The benefit to customers is that they only have to pay-per-use based on agreed contractual terms and conditions.

DC Extension

PUBLIC • CUVIC Cloud

Data Centre Extension (DCE) is a CTC Cloud offering where our customers can extend their data centres to the cloud without the complications of changing networks, operating systems or even hypervisors.

Our CTC Cloud essentially functions as an extension of your data center via an IPsec VPN connection, allowing you to safely and securely deploy workloads in either location.

The benefit to customers is that you can start small, expand as needed, and extend your data center into the public cloud securely with the same security policy constructs in use in your private cloud.

DRaaS

PUBLIC • CUVIC Cloud

Disaster recovery as a service (DRaaS) is a cloud computing and backup service model that uses cloud resources to protect applications and data from disruption caused by man-made or natural disasters.

It gives an organization a total system backup that allows for business continuity in the event of system failure.

CTC’s CUVIC Cloud provides increased flexibility and offers a usage-based cost model that allows our customers to pay only for the resources that they actually use.

Another benefit is that DRaaS lowers the administrative burden placed on IT and frees up team members to handle tasks that provide greater business value.

Private

PRIVATE • CUVIC on Prem

Private cloud is a type of cloud computing that delivers similar advantages to public cloud, including scalability and self-service, but through a proprietary architecture.

Unlike public clouds, which deliver services to multiple organizations, a private cloud is dedicated to the needs and goals of a single organization.

CTC is offerings our private cloud services called CUVIC On Prem. We host the infrastructure components including servers, storage and networking hardware, as well as the virtualization or hypervisor layer in the data center at our customers’ premises.

We provide a range of services to accompany those infrastructure components. The services may include detailed billing, monitoring, log access, security, load balancing and clustering and storage resiliency such as backup, replication and recovery.

The benefit to customers is that they only have to pay-per-use based on agreed contractual terms and conditions.

Hybrid

Hybrid cloud is a cloud computing environment that uses a mix of on-premise computing, private cloud and third party, public cloud services with orchestration between the two platforms.

By allowing workloads to move between private and public clouds as computing needs and costs change, hybrid cloud gives businesses greater flexibility and more data deployment options.

The primary benefit of a hybrid cloud is agility. The need to adapt and change direction quickly is a core principle of a digital business. Your enterprise might want (or need) to combine public clouds, private clouds, and on-premises resources to gain the agility it needs for a competitive advantage.
